Understanding Asia’s STR economy through insight, integrity, and inclusion
Art of Data is STRA’s flagship intelligence program — built to illuminate how Asia’s short-term rental sector really performs, grows, and connects.
While global reports often merge “APAC” into one broad region, Art of Data looks from within Asia outwards — gathering ground-level information from operators, destinations, and local associations to tell the real story of demand, performance, and professionalism across the region.
Our mission is simple:
"Empower property managers, platforms, investors, and policymakers to make better decisions."
Behind every number is a story — of hosts, guests, and communities transforming how Asia travels.
As STRA’s resident writer and analyst, Nur Wulan T uncovers the human context within the data — translating market shifts, management trends, and regional insights into narratives that help operators see where the industry is headed.
Through Art of Data, she connects stories to statistics, helping Asia’s short-term rental sector move from fragmented growth to shared progress.
Art of Data by STRA — because when Asia’s STR operators are seen, understood, and measured, they grow together.
Full Year 2024 and YTD Sept. 2025
Bring transparency to a fragmented Asia STR industry — seek to empower managers, investors, and destinations to make better decisions.
The Art of Data by STRA draws from a verified network of short-term rental operators, property managers, and technology partners across Asia. Each dataset is built on a minimum sample of 300 verified managers per country — or at least 10% of active STR supply in smaller markets — ensuring balanced, representative insights.
Data is aggregated, anonymized, and validated through PMS integrations and independent market checks, combining self-reported and verified performance metrics. The result: a true reflection of Asia’s operating realities — not external assumptions.
The Art of Data exists to build trust through transparency, empowering operators, investors, and policymakers with credible, actionable intelligence.
Sponsors and data partners receive exclusive access to regional trends, performance benchmarks, and verified contact networks across Asia’s short-term rental sector.
Our public index will only show limited data and represents just 5% to 10% sample of our verified property manager index here in Asia.

The STRA Verified Property Manager Index is Asia’s first data-driven registry of professional short-term rental operators — companies that actively manage, market, and maintain properties on behalf of owners.
It exists to clearly separate those who operate from those who merely list. In a marketplace blurred by mini-OTAs and intermediaries, the Index restores clarity by highlighting operators with real teams, accountability, and local presence.
This living map is designed to:
• strengthen trust between guests, owners, and regulators
• highlight professional benchmarks and cross-border best practices
• underpin STRA’s Accreditation & Art of Data initiatives
